Company Overview
MARET Systems International produces high quality counseling and assessment tools specifically designed with pastors and professional counselors in mind. MARET has been in existence since 1988. We continue to develop new assessment tools and to enhance those tools that we have previously produced.
MARET is family owned and operated and we pride ourselves on customer service. We understand that the tools that we produce are of great importance to pastors and professional counselors. It is our goal to assist pastors and professional counselors in their counseling efforts.
Our programming staff has decades of programming experience. We always use the most cutting edge tools in our software development. Our staff is continuously learning new programming methods for the enhancement of our software packages.
Company History
The ownership of MARET Systems International considers this whole effort as much more than a "business." We would like to think that we work "hand in hand" with everyone who uses our tools to counsel others.
Over the years we have heard testimonies from individuals who have used our software. We have heard of suicides that have been prevented because pastors have used QuikTest and the Youth Enrichment Survey. We have heard about marriages being healed because of the Marriage Inventory. We have heard of the help that the Premarriage Inventory has brought to those considering marriage.. In fact, we have added an entire new section that contains endorsements for the MARET Counseling and Assessment Software package.
Our software is used worldwide. Weekly we receive communications from around the world. Our software is used on all seven continents (including Antarctica by the U.S. Navy). Recently, we were informed that our software has been of great use on the battlefields of Iraq assisting our soldiers who are suffering distress in their war efforts.
MARET Systems International has won awards for best Christian Counseling Software through Christian Computing Magazine. In fact, we won that award each year that Christian Computing Magazine had their Reader's Choice Award for Christian Counseling Software.
Company Future
At MARET, we continue to enhance the software that we have already created. Many of the features that are incorporated into the software products come from suggestions from our customer base. In the very near future, the entire MARET Counseling and Assessment Software package will be available as an online tool so that you can administer the software remotely directly over the Internet.
We also have a number of new products that will enter our product line shortly. Those will include more religious and spiritual assessments. We will also be adding a comprehensive personality assessment tool called the Personality Style Assessment. That Assessment is the most complete electronic personality assessment tool on the market.
We have added comprehensive assessment modules to both marital and premarital assessments. Those include the ability to create customized Workbooks for each couple and a comprehensive Treatment Planner that actually lays out our marital or premarital counseling sessions for you.
Assessment Validity
The MARET Counseling and Assessment Software products have been used throughout the world since 1988! They have become trusted tools by those that use them in their everyday counseling practices.
Each of the assessment tools that MARET produces goes through an extensive testing process prior to its release to the general public. Great care is taken in the production of any assessment tool that will be used to assess a person in a counseling situation. Considerable professional-grade research is put into every assessment.
Each assessment project is carefully produced under the direction of Robert Tippie, owner of MARET Systems International. Robert holds a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, a Master's of Divinity, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology.
For many years Robert actively counseled individuals as a licensed minister. He has counseled such issues as domestic violence, multiple personality disorder, and a variety other significant disorders. Robert is expertly familiar with the DSM-IV-TR and its relevant uses in the counseling world. Robert was also a Crisis Chaplain at a Level One trauma hospital in the Chicago suburbs for a period of nine years.
During Robert's educational history he studied a wide range of psychological topics. He also had considerable coursework related to psychometrics, psychological statistics, and psychological test construction. Robert is an expert in the construction of tests and testing models.
Each assessment that is created at MARET undergoes a rigorous process. The initial testing model is drafted. Research is sometimes done at a major University regarding issues related to the topic associated with the test. A large battery of test questions are generated and then categorized. An initial assessment is created using the most appropriate of those questions. Then, a preliminary test is created and field-testing is conducted.
Once field tests are done, the results from the test are processed extensively. This includes complete item analysis for each item on the test, assessment of scoring areas, accuracy of results, and a host of other analyses. Ineffective questions are removed and the revised test goes out for another round of field-testing.
After the second round of field-testing with professional and trusted beta sites, the new assessment is analyzed to determine if it is fit for market distribution. MARET prides itself on marketing only those instruments that have been thoroughly tested prior to distribution.
