General Article List
These articles are available to individuals who are members of the TorahTips website. With certain restrictions, members of the TorahTips website may pass out these articles to others who are not members. The conditions under which such distribution is allowed are as follows: 1) The individual to whom the article is being given is not being charged for the article, 2) the article is not being mass produced in a Journal, book, or periodical, 3) and there is no profit being gained by the individual who is passing out the article. The individual passing out the article, however, is allowed to be reimbursed for copying costs, if they have incurred copying costs for the article.
The articles may not under any circumstances be posted on the Internet. There may not be a directly link to the article from another website. Such violations will result in the revocation of membership in the TorahTips site.
TorahTips members should be aware that not all articles fall in this category. There are some articles that have distribution rights that demand payment for articles. There are also articles that are not allowed to be distributed at all. Check with the article format category prior to distribution prior to giving someone an article.

The Seven Rules of Interpretation by Hillel the Great

The Principles of Interpretation course is not accessible to students at the instructor level until the student has completed the 30-lesson study of the 613 principles of the Torah.

In Defense of Talmud

Description: I wrote this article many years ago (as you can see). I still find it of some intrinsic value or I would not have reposted it. You must understand that I am not one who believes that the Talmud is all-authoritative in any way. Nor do I think that we should necessarily derive our own doctrinal positions from the Talmud. However, the Talmud does have some interesting things to say. Those things include 1) clarifications of positions in Judaism that Christianity has long held in error regarding Judaism, 2) and, general understandings of Jewish theology from which we might glean some understandings of New Testament happenings that we might have never seen. There are also significant prophetic and end-times issues from a Jewish point of view in the Talmud that it would be wise for us to understand.
