       Study Torah Online
First of all, I must apologize for the length of this page. It is way too long. It breaks all of the web standard rules. Oh well. I need to say some things and putting all of the information in one place on one page is the best way to do it. All I ask is that those who have spent so many years with us take the time to read through what has to be said here. This is one of the most important statements - if not the most important statement - that we have ever made.
Please forgive the length.
Who We Are
Since 1999, Dr. Robert Tippie has been studying Torah from a New Testament perspective. He has offered similar coursework online free for the past nine years. Well over 1000 students have engaged this study from all over the world. Robert has also been an active teacher of Torah in a local congregation. Scores of individuals from around the world have completed the online study of Torah, which included 30 very comprehensive assignments. Those students are to be commended for their accomplishments.
Over these last nine years of teaching Torah online free we have learned that there is a hunger for Torah knowledge. However, the TorahTips organization is now shifting focus from an informal study of the Torah online free, to a more structured format. We have done this for specific reasons. This has been a very hard decision for us since we know that it may exclude some individuals from study. But, with careful consideration, we believe that it is time to make these changes. Believe me; the changes are not driven by the economics of making money off of Torah teaching. There are far reaching and more intensely philosophical reasons for making this change. Hopefully this page will help you understand those reasons. Those reasons will be discussed in following sections.
Dr. Robert Tippie will be the administrator of the new format. Everything will continue to be conducted under his watchful eye and with his continued insights. We strongly suggest that you examine the credentials of Dr. Tippie as a point of consideration for your further study with us. We are entirely open and willing to personally discuss Torah study with anyone who wishes to contact us by phone. We are looking for select students whose desire it is to not only learn Torah but to apply it in every day life. This methodology will allow us to make the whole Torah study venture a "package deal" that will teach Torah, help individuals in their daily application of Torah, learn to teach Torah and study even more effectively, and to start their own small group Torah studies.
It is our goal to engender Torah study groups everywhere that are willing participants throughout the whole world. Carefully examine the summaries of the classes that we will be teaching. After each summary there will be an opportunity to view more detailed information about the classes, including expected starting dates.
View a more detailed synopsis of the main teacher and the administrator of TorahTips. Dr. Tippie oversees all individuals who participate as advisors and instructors. Those instructors must have completed the initial main Torah study and they must have completed the Principles of Interpretation course. The philosophies and goals of this organization will be strictly maintained and enforced. Fringe groups will not "invade" our space with ulterior motives. It's our goal to grow Torah communities to become beacons of lights and towers of hope throughout the world. Those goals will not be subverted by other agendas. This will be an accepting community and a diverse community of individuals.

Who We Are Looking For
The courses that we offer are not for everyone. We know that. But we also understand that these courses will be extremely beneficial to a certain sector of individuals who greatly desire spiritual growth in a day and age where it is hard to find cutting edge materials that are strictly based on the scriptures.
All of our courses are based on a Messianic point of view. We strongly believe that the Torah is still relevant to our common era and that it should be applied in daily life. We also believe that the New Testament is included as part of the scriptures. Thus, we consistently use the New Testament in our courses. We believe that it is as much the Word of the Living God as the Old Testament.
Who are we looking for as students? That question is probably best answered with a series of questions asked to you, the reader. Ask yourself these questions:
  • Are you currently being spiritually "feed" in your current religious environment?
  • Does your current religious environment teach the Torah?
  • Are you currently being encouraged to live out Torah in your daily life?
  • Are you in an environment that is leaving you without much substance spiritually?
  • Are you currently using the spiritual gifts that you have to the fullest?
  • Do you currently feel like an outcast in your current spiritual environment?
  • Do you wish to interact with individual who are also learning Torah?
  • Do you want to learn to practice Torah at home and live a Torah-based lifestyle?
  • Are you searching for the deeper truths of the scriptures that you cannot seem to find anywhere else?
  • If you answered "yes" to a number of these questions, then you should be studying Torah with us online. Our online Torah study will help you have a more fulfilling spiritual life. You will be enriched. You will also be empowered to live out what you learn. Our Torah community will accept you in and give you the encouragement that you need to live Torah where ever you are in the world.
The Psalmist taught us that the Torah was worth more than fine gold:
"The Torah of Adonai is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of Adonai is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of Adonai are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of Adonai is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of Adonai is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of Adonai are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward." (Psalm 19:7-11)
Do you believe those words? Do you desire that "fine gold" found within the pages of the Torah? If your answer is "yes" then you should be studying Torah with us, if indeed you have no other place that is currently feeding your soul.
Countless hours have gone into the preparation of these materials. We believe that a servant is worthy of his hire. Thus, the instructor should be reimbursed for providing the education that the student receives. Therefore, there is a nominal charge for each of the courses that we teach. There is a consistent monitoring of the forums associated with each study and the instructor answers questions posted by the students.
We believe that the moral condition of the world is deteriorating rapidly. There is a sense of urgency in what we are doing. And, we believe that when a student makes the choice to pay for the education they will work through the lessons on a more regular basis. They will also endeavor to plug in what they learn so that the righteous dictates of the Torah can be spread throughout their world.
We are interested in making an impact with the material that we teach. We are not interested in people simply gaining "head knowledge" of the Torah without learning how to employ that knowledge on a daily basis. (This will be played out online in the forums that we develop).
What We Can Do For You
I have been teaching Torah now for over a decade. I can assure you that the education in Torah and related subjects that you will receive from us will be the best and the most thorough that you will find. Our classes will also motivate you to put Torah into action in your everyday life.
    But there's more.
We are looking to build Torah communities throughout the United States (and the world). We are not necessarily interested in starting "official" congregations and building those congregations as if they were churches or synagogues. That's not our intent with the concept of community.
We are interested in individuals living out the Torah with those around them that are of like faith. If that includes only a single family, then that is good enough. If it is a small group of people - two or three families - then that is good also. In some cases, these small groups may grow into larger communities. We stand ready to assist people in being light and salt in any situation that they engage.
Our desire is to build a righteous remnant throughout the world - one family here, one family there. And, it is our goal to link those families together so that they can contact each other, meet each other, talk on the phone, and communicate in other meaningful ways.
These are dark days that we are moving into. We all need the encouragement to know that there are others of like mind somewhere "out there." We all need encouragement from those who think like we do. We all need answers to questions that come to mind that the more traditional belief systems just simply cannot answer. We will provide this safe haven for you. We will give you the community that you need and the encouragement to live out Torah fully and completely.
We have been in the business of educating people in Torah since 1999. We know that we can continue that process, expand it, and make it much more powerful. That has already been proven. And, those previous students who have studied with us know the quality of what we have done in the past. They know how the material has ministered to them.
If you desire to be a beacon of light in a dark and immoral world, please join us in studying Torah. Once you have completed the Torah study, move on to other studies. Keep in contact with us through the forums that we create. Those forums will be a source of constant comfort and encouragement.
    What We Need From You
This type of production takes time. It takes considerable energy. It also takes a certain type of person to be able to put it all together. I have a PhD degree and I have been a teacher and an instructor on many topics throughout the years. I am a prolific writer. I am also a University-level course creator. I have the skills, the ability and the knowledge to provide the Messianic community with their educational needs on a continuing and expanding degree.
    Problem.
I have a family of five. Further problem. I live within the city of Chicago - not exactly the cheapest place to be - but at the same time a place of immense ministry potential. My expenses, although we live as meager as possible - are still many thousands of dollars per month.
I have another self-owned business that I operate. My desire, though, is toward establishment of Torah communities throughout the United States and around the world. Since I have consistent obligations to my family, I can only take the time for which I am compensated to work on the Torah materials. If I receive no compensation, then I really can't justify the time. That's certainly not what I want to do. Furthermore, I don't think that is advantageous for you.
We need a middle ground that can allow me to put a considerable amount of time in production of high-quality Torah instruction without constantly "begging" for money to support the effort. And, I know how that can be done.

    How It Works
We have added - and will continue to add - excellent professional-grade courses to the TorahTips web site. We believe that these courses will lead you to a comprehensive knowledge of the topics that are being presented. For those serious students who wish to advance beyond a cursory knowledge of Torah, these courses will aid you in implementing the teachings of Torah in every day life. They will also aid you in establishing your local Torah-based community.
Some of the courses that we have added demand that you have a prerequisite course study prior to engaging the course. Others are entry level courses. The student who progresses completely through all of our courses will achieve a mastery of the concepts of Torah, of scriptural interpretation, and of building a viable Torah-based community of believers.
The classes are all hosted on a secure web server that offers professional educational materials. This is a "service type" web site that allows teachers to post their teachings and hold classes. The classes include all study materials in PDF format, online tests that assess a student's progress, interaction with the instructor, and a forum wherein the students can all communicate with each other. This forum is designed to be a place where students can encourage each other and learn from each other. We will also be offering another web-based forum for all students associated with the TorahTips community. That link will be announced during the week of May 15th.
More classes will be added as the need arises in the future.
Links will be added to sign up for classes shortly.
    Currently Scheduled Courses
We will be offering five complete courses through the University. Each of those classes can be taken independently. However, there are certain courses that must be completed prior to engaging other courses. The information about each class will detail the prerequisites for each class. The first class that must be mastered is the Torah class. Those individuals who have already completed the Torah class online free will be exempt from taking it again. They may move on to the next class or classes online.
All classes will contain a class syllabus, class materials, online tests (a minimum of five tests), and potentially other assignments. The student will immediately recognize the caliber of the educational opportunities that they are engaging. The students will not only gain considerable knowledge throughout the coursework, but the practical aspects will far outweigh even the "head knowledge" that is gained. These classes will change the way that you live and function in the world.
Each class will be very briefly described here. There will be a link following the class description that will give the details of the class as it exists in its current format. Any changes to the class will be immediately updated so that all information remains current.
The Torah Key to Human Happiness Study
The Torah classes are based on nine years worth of research that I have done. The textbook used is The Torah Key to Human Happiness. There are over 700 footnotes to various sources to substantiate the materials that are presented. The student will study all 613 commandments located in the Torah - Genesis through Deuteronomy. Those commandments will be studied from a Jewish perspective. Yet, at the same time, each of the commandments will be interpreted in light of the New Testament scriptures. All 613 commandments will have New Testament applications attached to them.
The student will learn exactly what is expected of them from the Torah as a believer in the Messiah. Complete references to the New Testament scriptures fill the materials. As well, the historical underpinnings of the rabbinical understandings are brought to light so that the student can see the Jewish roots of the commandments. This class will enrich the spiritual life of both Messianic believers and traditional Christians who wish to understand the very foundations of the new Covenant.
No one should be without this knowledge. This is a foundational course for all other courses in the series of educational opportunities that we offer. Be ready to be challenged!
Here are the details of the course.
    Principles of Interpretation
This is a comprehensive study of the principles of interpretation of scripture from a classical Jewish perspective. The student will learn how to uses certain key methods when employing interpretive methods to any study of the scripture. This course will give the student the ability to argue any point systematically using the scriptures. It will also ensure that the student avoids common pitfalls in scriptural interpretation that have been used in the past.

    The Secrets of the Tithe
The Secrets of the Tithe exhaustively study's the precept of tithing from a New Testament perceptive. It will also explore the issue of the Priesthood of Melchizedek and the New Covenant. Included are a study of the first and second tithes and the Terumah tithe as they apply to the New Testament scriptures.

    The Isaiah Connection
For many decades, the author has been associated with a project known as The Isaiah Connection. This project has not been made public. Now, however, the author will begin to expose this theory of scriptural correlation that will astound students. The author has found a distinct and thoroughly systematic connection between the text of the book of Isaiah and the remainder of the scriptures.
This connection is so advanced that nearly every verse in the Book of Isaiah correlates in some way to another passage in another Bible book. When the Bible books are placed in their original order, the student will note that every verse in Isaiah chapter 1 relates to a passage in the book of Genesis. Every verse in Isaiah chapter 2 relates to a verse in Exodus, every verse in Isaiah 3 relates to a verse is Leviticus. This process goes on all the way through the entire Bible wherein the book of Revelation connects with the book of Revelation.
This class will be a working group wherein students will be actively attempting to locate even more connections than the author has found. The working group will also begin to formulate the true meaning of these connections and their application and implication to the world in which we live. The forums will play a large role in this course.
This is a great group for anyone interested in End Times events. Those events will be discussed on a consistent basis throughout this entire study.

    Congregation/Community Growth and Development
This course is designed to help anyone from a single family to a larger congregation. While this course is not designed to build your congregation into a mega-congregation, it will aid you in developing the right structure and assimilating the right people to reach the individuals that match your spiritual gifts and the focus of your congregation.
This course is designed to get the members of the congregation (even if that is only a single family) out into the community affecting the community with the practices of Torah. Building a colossal edifice should not be the goal of any congregation. Ministering effectively in the place that the Holy One has placed you should be the focus. This course will most definitely help you achieve those goals.
